Exness spreads: the public reading and your own screen — Namibia
Every figure below was recorded on Exness’s own MetaTrader 5 Standard feed by an in-terminal EA — from outside any individual account, which is what makes it comparable and also what keeps it impersonal. The reading on your own screen belongs to the account that window is connected through, and it exists only there.
There are two kinds of spread figure and they sit on opposite sides of the access boundary. A public reading is taken once, from outside any individual account, and published unchanged to every reader — which is exactly what makes it comparable between brokers and between days. A private reading is the number in your own quote window; it belongs to the account that window is connected through and it can be read nowhere else.

Typical = the median of all readings. The min–p90 strip shows how far the spread stretched under load; a stable in sample badge means the spread never moved across the whole sample — on Exness Standard many instruments are quoted with stable target spreads, so identical min, median and p90 is expected there, not an error. Forex pairs are quoted in pips; metals, indices, energy and crypto in points — the cost column converts each instrument into the dollar cost of opening the selected lot size at the typical spread. Confidence dots: ●●● at least 2,000 readings, ●● at least 800, ● below that — treat single-dot rows as indicative. Dollar costs differ in magnitude because contract sizes differ: 1 lot of JP225 (Nikkei 225) is a contract of just 1 — a fraction of other instruments’ notional — so a cost of a few cents per lot is genuine, not an error; the “cost vs daily move” column is the fair cross-instrument comparison. What a public reading is for
A published figure answers a question that has the same answer for every reader: what was quoted, on what, when. Because nobody had to identify themselves for it to be produced, it can be checked by anyone against anything, and that is its entire value. It is a shared reference point rather than a forecast of one person's screen.
The tables below are that reference point. They can be read, compared and argued with from the first door, with nothing installed and nothing registered, and everything needed to interpret them — the instrument, the capture and the account type measured — is stated alongside them.
What only appears once there is a screen of your own
The moment a terminal is connected, a second reading exists that no publication can contain: the quote attached to that account, on that instrument, at that instant. It is not a better or worse version of the public figure — it is a different object, produced for one account rather than for the record.
This is why the honest use of a public reading is as an expectation rather than a promise. It tells you the order of magnitude to expect and what to be surprised by; confirming it is something only your own window can do, and only once that window exists.
The order that makes both readings useful
Read the public figures first, because they cost nothing to obtain and they are the only ones available before an account exists. Note what they say and what they deliberately do not: a measurement taken on one account type describes that account type.
Then, once a window of your own is open, compare rather than replace. The public reading is the benchmark; the private one is the observation. Keeping the two apart is what makes a difference between them informative instead of confusing.
